A Chic New Closet

There is nothing we love more than helping our clients through new chapters and transitions in their lives. It is one of the most rewarding parts of being professional organizers. Recently we had the privilege of helping our client and her two children get settled in their beautiful new home. Our client purged a large portion of her wardrobe before the move and was ready for a fresh start in her main closet!

For our client’s main closet, we worked to create systems that can easily accommodate growth as she rebuilds her wardrobe. By implementing clear sections and categories for hanging within her closet, our client will easily be able to maintain the organization, even as she adds more pieces to her closet. One practice we utilize in every closet system is matching hangers. Slim, black velvet hangers really diminish the visual clutter that can occur with mismatched hangers. Making this simple switch can significantly impact not only the look, but also the functionality of your closet. The slim build of the hangers creates more hanging space on the rod. The velvet covering also ensures your clothes do not become damaged and bent out of shape like with harsh metal hangers. 

While our client is working to rebuild the clothing portion of her wardrobe, she was not lacking in amazing accessories! Her shoes and handbags were the largest category of items that we needed to create systems for in the closet. For the shoes we utilized the built-in shelves in the closet while also incorporating some of our favorite acrylic risers. These risers are perfect for maximizing the vertical space that generally goes unused on shelves. While we used them as shoe storage here, they’re actually sold as computer monitor stands! As professional organizers we are constantly reimagining and reinventing ways to use products in order to best fit our client’s needs.

Next up was handbags! Our client had a beautiful collection and we wanted to create easy access for the smaller handbags. We were able to create a fun yet functional display of her clutches with some awesome acrylic organizers. These organizers are such a great product because they’re so versatile on where and what you can use them for! For her larger handbags we opted for cotton string open bins. These bins are a great choice for handbag storage as they have some structure, but also offer some flexibility due to the open-string design. This bin ensures your handbags receive proper ventilation which helps them stay in mint condition.To create a special moment for our client, we incorporated an acrylic file box to display her favorite handbag.We really love to craft an organizational system that is extremely personalized for our clients and takes their lifestyle, as well as their preferences, into account!

We also needed to account for the lack of drawer space in the main closet. Since we have worked in many different spaces where we had to create new storage options we knew this would be no problem. The Oskar Storage Box was a great choice for her more intimate items that normally would have gone in a drawer. We utilized these lidded boxes for our client’s lingerie and swimwear, as well as accessories like scarves and belts. Our client loved how we incorporated solutions for all of her wardrobe pieces including the smaller accessories!
